Itinerary Details - Day by Day
Day 1 Arrive in Lhasa
Welcome to Tibet, upon your arrival, your professional guide will meet you at Gonggar airport, then transfer to the hotel for rest to acclimatize the high altitude, along the way enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
Day 2 Lhasa City Tour - Potala Palace, Johkang Temple, and Barkhor Street (B, D)
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel, and bring you to the Potala Palace which is the symbol of Tibet, built in 641AD, it is also the winter palace of the Dalai lama.
After lunch, we will go head to Jokhang temple which was founded by the 33rd great king of Tibet in the 7th century. It was the spiritual center of Tibet, pilgrims from every place of Tibet will trek here, making prostrating in front of Jokhang Temple. Around the temple is the famous Barkhor Street, where you can enjoy the traditional Tibetan tea and or buy some special souvenirs for your family members.
Day 3 Lhasa City Tour - Drepung, Sera Monastery (B)
In the morning, you will visit Drepung monastery which is one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet, it has more than 500 years history as the largest monastery in the world, the famous annual Shoton Festival is also set here, and during this festival, they will exhibit the precious huge Thangka.
In the Afternoon, Tourists will visit another outstanding Gelug Monastery--Sera Monastery. The most important attention point is the famous Monks Scriptures debate at around 3 - 5 in the afternoon.
Day 4 Lhasa-Shigatse (3900m) (B)
After breakfast, we will leave Lhasa and drive to Shigatse. Along the way, we will drive across the Gampala pass (5030m), and take a few time at the holy Yamdrotse Lake (4400m), the Lake is decorated by continuous snow-covered Mount Nyenchen Khangsar and the lake water is as blue as the green jade, lie on the earth silently.
Later, we will keep driving to Gyantse. On the road, we will pass the glories Karola Glacier (5200m), when we arrive in Gyantse, the third biggest city in Tibet, we will go to visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and the Kubum Stupa, also enjoy the sight of Gyangtse Fortress.
After around 2 hours of driving, we get to Shigatse, the second-largest city in Tibet.
Day 5 Shigatse--EBC (B)
In the morning, we will start our journey to the roof of the world--Mount Everest. Leave from Shigatse, along the way, we will witness the glories views, like the extremely high sky, numerous yaks and cute sheep, also the uninterrupted white snow-covered mountains.
We will stop and visit the world highest monastery --Rongbuk monastery and at last, we get to the marvelous Mt. Everest Base Camp if the weather condition permits, we can catch the sunset and the golden peak of Everest, even at night we could view the sight of milky way by eyes directly.
Day 6 EBC to Saga / 450KM
Get up early and you may enjoy the unique sunrise of Everest peak if the weather condition is good. Then we will go ahead to our next stop-- Saga. Nearly 9 hours driving maybe too hard, but the scenery along the road deserves it, you can feel the fabulous plateau landscape and could also witness the view of the worlds’14th highest peak Mt.Shishapangma (8012m) by far and enjoy the pure Pelkhutso lake.
Day 7 Saga -- Darchen, via Lake Manasarover (450km)
Get up early as today we will have another long driving to Darchen, which is a small village at the foot of Mt. Kailash. It is the starting point and endpoint of our trekking. Every year, many pilgrimage followers will start from here and go towards there inner hearts' beliefs.
Day 8 Darchen--Drirapuk (driving 7km, Trek 15km)
In the morning, we will set our journey Trek from Darchen (4,560m) to Dirapuk Monastery. It is about 15KM trekking nearly for 5-6 hours, and during trekking, you can enjoy the mountain Kailashi both west and north face. It is one of the best sections with the best scenery of the whole Kora.
Day 9 Trek from Drirapuk to Dzutrpuk (Trek 18km 6h)
Today we will trek from Drirapuk to Dzutrpuk, and we will cross over the Kora highest pass--Dromala pass, along with the trekking you may be accompanied by many local Buddhist pilgrims.
Day 10 Dzutripuk--Darchen --Manasarova Lake (Trek 7km, driving 5km)
Today’s trekking is leisure and not too much harsh, whichc an be done in around 3 hours, you can arrange the rest time by own like perhaps you can choose to take a bath in Manasarovar Lake. And later driver will pick you up to drive back to Darchen. visit Lake Manasarovar which is a holy place of pilgrimage, attracting religious people from India, Nepal, the neighboring countries and Tibet.
Believers bath in the Manasarovar Lake and drink its water are believed to cleanse all sins. Every summer, pilgrims from Tibet, India and Nepal cluster to make circumambulation and bathe in the lake. After that, they will return home and bring some samples of the holy water to family and friends as precious gifts.
Day 11 Darchen back to Saga (450km)
We will back from Darchen to Saga, along the way, there are many fabulous sights.
Day 12 Saga - Gyirong ( B )
Today we will drive around 5 hours from Saga to Gyirong Town, it is a small town near the border. The view along the way is splendid, amazing and also varies according to the altitude change which deserves you spend time on it.
Day 13 Gyirong Town to Nepal Border
We will leave Gyirong town and forward to Gyirong port today, then we will end our service at the border, just go across the border bridge you can easily take the transfer to Kathmandu by your own.
